Tom and Kristin George live in Berkley Massachusetts and have always dreamed of starting their own business together. Both born in Taunton, Tom eventually moved to Berkley in 2004 after building on land that was in his family for 2 generations.
Tom grew up in the family business, Weir Fruit and Liquor Store in the heart of Weir Village in Taunton. Since childhood, his father John and Aunt Tina instilled a strong work ethic in retail with him, learning that hard work and excellent customer service was everything. By 1997, Tom was ready to move onto his own career in the Beer, Wine and Liquor industry. He became a sales rep for Quality Beverage and later Horizon Beverage, where he sold and consulted with some of the largest liquor stores in the state of Massachusetts over the last 25 years.
Kristin grew up with two very hard-working parents who also instilled the same work ethic in her. Over the years, Kristin quickly fell in love with the Beer, Wine and Liquor industry. She started working for area wholesalers and tasting/event companies where she would work tasting events for many area wholesalers and national suppliers. She then started helping at Somerset Liquors, making the best liquor and wine gift baskets around. Soon after that she started managing the night shift at Globe Liquors in Fall River, before leaving to manage a local tax office.
Over the last few years, the couple realized the void left in the Myrick’s section of Berkley for a full- service liquor store that could cater to Berkley as well as the surrounding towns of Assonet, Lakeville and East Taunton. So, when the opportunity presented itself, they quickly decided that this is what they were meant to do!! With Tom’s experience in Sales and Ordering, and Kristin’s experience in running front of house and organizing an office, it was time!!
